Is the hipster revolution really strong enough to have catapulted sales of vinyl records ahead of revenues from music streaming services such as Spotify?
In a word, no. A mid-year report from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) found that US consumers spent $226m (£149m) on vinyl albums and singles in the first half of the year, surpassing $162.7m in revenues from ad-supported streaming.
