Recently, Gao Xiaosong, Chairman of Ali Music, accepted the special interview with Tech.ifeng.com at Internet Carnival. He said: In the future, two music players TTPod and Xiami Music will not be the major business of Ali Music. In replacement, they will be the platform business that connects upstream with downstream in music industry.
“After large amount of BAT (Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent) capital entered the music industry, no single player can do better in this battle. Neither do upstream copyright owners promote any good artist or song. This is ridiculous.”
Gao Xiaosong said that, Ali Music will launch its platform product recently. The mode is similar to Taobao. It breaks the information barriers in the current industry and will open flagship stores later on. Additionally, the major part of music industry has been settled. It took Song Ke and Gao Xiaosong half a year to persuade all parties on the music industrial chain to participate.
Song Ke once revealed that they would not remain TTPod and Xiami. However, the details about how to deal with them are still unclear. On Internet Carnival, Gao Xiaosong accepted the interview of 36Kr and answered the detailed arrangement.
Gao said, “Ali Music will remain Xiami as a player, and transform TTPod into a new platform and remove its function as a pure player.”
Gao also added, he had a long conversation with the founder of Xiami Music Wang Hao. He was a bit sad. Gao told Wang, “Anything small but beautiful, when you decided to sell it, you have already made up your mind. You should never sell anything small but beautiful.”
Plus, Gao also invited many celebrities in the industry to join Ali Music.
