NetEase You, NetEase’s home goods and decore brand, partnered up with NetEase Cloud Music to launch a second lifestyle-music store in Hangzhou, called “a salute to life.” The store has 16 displays with 16 theme songs, taking visitors through ages of vinyl and cassettes to modern times.
Yinyuetai Rumored to Go Bankrupt
Yinyuetai.com, Chinese music lover’s very first memory of music, stopped functioning. The webpage doesn’t open; videos don’t play; its mobile app also malfunctions. Yinyuetai’s Weibo account was sold to a shoe manufacturer. According to music bloggers on Weibo, Yinyuetai sold its Weibo account in November and told its management to seek employment elsewhere.
Tencent Released Song Guessing Game App
Tencent released a mobile app called Guess Song Planet, a free gaming application that allows advancement by guessing the name of the song. The application has relatively weak social features.
South Koreans Concerned with Copycat Suicides
According to South Korean media, rookie actor Cha Inha was found dead at the age of 27. Previously, famous South Korean singer and actress Goo Hara committed suicide only six weeks after her close friend, Choi Sulli, did. People are concerned that the Werther Effect is taking place in Korea.
Hua Chenyu’s New Song Topped the Chart
Hua Chenyu released a digital single called Want to Love this World So Bad, calling for the public to pay more attention to people who suffer from depression. The single sold one million copies in two minutes and hit number one on NetEase’s digital single chart in 30 minutes.
