Streaming Platforms are Nurturing Up-and-coming Musicians Streaming platforms lowered the barrier of entry for the music industry.

Tsinghua University and the Communication University of China recently co-hosted the Innovation of the Future: A Cross-Industry Talent and Industry Prosperity International Forum. During the forum, the 2019 Chinese Musicians Report was released. The report shows that 62% of the musicians uploaded their first piece of music within a year, and 80% of the musicians have only uploaded less than ten pieces of music. Most musicians who are active on streaming platforms are very new to the industry.
